Bob
Polomski
As a former native
of New Jersey (the "Garden State"), Bob Polomski
has gardened in the south for more than two decades
where he is widely known and respected for both his
down-to-earth gardening expertise and knowledge of
the latest technical information. As Clemson Extension
Horticulturist at Clemson University he shares his
gardening know-how with residents through numerous
print and electronic articles, radio broadcasts, and
television appearances.

Polomski's numerous publications range from scientific
papers and extension publications to magazine and newspaper
articles. For twelve years he had been the "Questions & Answers" columnist
for Horticulture magazine. He has also published
articles in Carolina Gardener, Fine Gardening,
and American Rose. He appears on television
programs devoted to gardening and hosts a biweekly
public radio program that’s broadcast statewide with
listeners in portions of North Carolina and Georgia.
He has also conducted garden study tours in England
and France.
Attesting to his expertise and communication skills,
Polomski has accumulated many honors, among them National
communication awards from the National Association
of County Agricultural Agents (NACAA) for his gardening
columns (2006, 2000, and 1998) and radio program (1996).
From the Garden Writers Association, he received a
Silver Award of Achievement “for radio on-air talent”
in 2006 and a Quill & Trowel Award for his "Listen
to Your Lawn: Recycle Your Grass Clippings" public
service announcement videotape in 1977. For his Clemson
Extension publications, Polomski received the 2005
Renewable Natural Resources Foundation Outstanding
